Doctrinal Statement
WTWV-Channel 14 adheres to seven core, doctrinal essentials that are the foundation of the Christian faith. First and foremost, the foundation is the infallible Holy Scriptures, which are comprised of 66 books within the Old and New Testament,  standing as a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive work culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, the supreme and final authority on all matters, because of this sure foundation we affirm these essentials to the faith:

1.) We believe in one Father who is the sustainer of all things, perfect and eternally existing in the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy and sovereign and deserving of all praise, honor, and glory forevermore!

2.) Jesus Christ, the Living Word, became flesh through His miraculous conception through the Holy Spirit and virgin birth. He who was fully God, and fully man lived a sinless life and according to Scripture, died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins and to act as a mediator between us and the Father. On the third day He rose from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father as High Priest.

3.) The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and apply His saving work in the hearts of all those who believe in Him. He convicts the believer of their sin and draws them to the Savior. He indwells in the hearts of all those who believe, gives new life, empowers and imparts gifts for His service. Finally, He instructs and guides us in truth and seals us for the day of redemption.

4.) In our sinful state we are completely helpless to obtain salvation on our own and it is only by the work of God’s free grace. We are only justified before God when we put faith in Jesus Christ for our salvation. Only by this are we then  born of the Holy Spirit, receive Jesus Christ and become children of God and accepted as His heirs in heaven.

5.) The true church is composed of all persons who through the saving work of Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The church finds her visible, yet imperfect expression through the local congregation where the Word of God is preached, in its purity, the sacraments are administered in their integrity, where Scriptural discipline is practiced, and loving fellowship amongst believers is maintained, for her perfection until the return of her Lord.

6.) Jesus will one day  return to earth– personally, visibly, and bodily to judge the living and the dead, and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. (Matthew 25:31)

7.) The Lord Jesus Christ calls believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:18-20) Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a life of self-denying love and service. (Ephesians 2:10)
